Here's a closer look at San Francisco's newest eateries, drinking spots, hotels, conference areas, private rooms, and other spaces available for events this fall. The new and renovated San Francisco venues are available for corporate parties, weddings, fundraisers, outdoor functions, business dinners, team-building activities, conferences, meetings, and more.
1 Hotel San Francisco

In June 2022, luxury lifestyle hotel brand 1 Hotels opened its seventh location overall and its second in California with 1 Hotel San Francisco. Its 186 guest rooms and 14 suites capture panoramic views of the Bay Area's rolling hills, sweeping fog, and historic architecture. Centrally located on the Embarcadero, the hotel pays homage to its regional surroundings, with an earth tone color palette, raw materials, and layered textures. It also offers 5,074 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event spaces. This includes a 1,750-square-foot ballroom, a boardroom, and outdoor terraces perched on the hotel's upper floors, offering panoramic views of the San Francisco Bay. On-site restaurant Terrene can also host private events, and it features a tea-light covered outdoor patio (pictured).

The Hayes Mansion San Jose

The renovations continue at The Hayes Mansion San Jose, a California historical landmark and part of the Curio Collection by Hilton. In September 2022, the hotel completed a transformative $20 million renovation that includes 214 revamped guest rooms and suites, 33,000-square-feet of upgraded event space, a reimagined lobby, and a new restaurant (Palm & Ember). The design was led by ForrestPerkins, a hospitality design group with extensive Hilton and historic hotel experience. The original luxury estate structure was constructed in 1905 and is situated on six acres of prime real estate adjacent to a 20-acre park located minutes from downtown San Jose. InterContinental Mark Hopkins San Francisco

An elegant refresh was also in store for the Grand Peacock Ballroom, which has hosted an array of illustrious events over the years, at the InterContinental Mark Hopkins San Francisco. The 4,400-square-foot historic ballroom's redesign hearkens back to the Gilded Age when Mark Hopkins built his luxurious 40-room mansion atop Nob Hill, which is the site that the hotel now occupies. The redesign—led by Nile Tuzun of Studio Nilebrand—brings focus to the impressive ceiling and features a new color palette, new wallpaper, and new drapery designs on the floor-to-ceiling windows and stage. Three new glittering crystal chandeliers are each illuminated by 49 flameless candles. Of course, the famous peacock still holds court from center stage, as it has since 1926.

Beacon Grand, A Union Square Hotel

Following an extensive renovation and redesign of all public spaces and guest rooms, the 418-room Beacon Grand hotel—located in Union Square—opened its doors on June 2022. The iconic property was formerly the Sir Francis Drake Hotel, and it now aims to usher in a new era. Guest rooms have been fully renovated with European hardwood floors, custom wallpaper paying homage to San Francisco, decorative wall paneling, high ceilings, and city views. On the mezzanine overlooking the lobby, Beacon Lounge serves as a social gathering space serving craft cocktails, elevated bites, and live music. Tucked away off the Beacon Lounge and nodding to the hotel’s Prohibition years, The Library unlocks a collection of rare whiskeys serviced by a bartender-butler, plus a barrel-aged spirits program using on-site casks. The property's 17,000 square feet of meeting and event spaces have also been renovated with modern flourishes and updates that accentuate the historic details.
