C Market Coffee HQ
Beloved Vancouver coffee shop C Market Coffee opened a massive new location (its second) in Port Coquitlam in April—the C Market Coffee HQ. Abundant natural light and 4,000 square feet of space make it the perfect place for events of up to 75. And within the sun-soaked location, there's also a 400-square foot, classroom-sized space that can accommodate up to 20 for seminars, meetings, intimate celebrations, and more.

Chinatown Storytelling Centre
The Chinatown Storytelling Centre opened in November 2021 and interactively explores the story of Canada through the lens of Vancouver’s Chinatown. The exhibit hall narrates the rich history of early Chinese immigration to Canada and the many contributions of Chinese Canadians to the building of the nation. The centre—located in the historic Bank of Montreal building, just a short drive from Vancouver's downtown core—can also serve as an impressive backdrop for meetings, speaker series, workshops, and receptions. Its 3,000 square feet can host up to 150 guests.

Monarca Cocina Mexicana
Vancouver's Gastown welcomed Monarca Cocina Mexicana in April. The new-age Mexican restaurant pays homage to chef Francisco Higareda's father, who lived near the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve in Mexico's Michoacán region. The menu is helmed by modern Mexican dishes that are inspired by memories from Higareda's childhood, such as guajillo-marinated chicken, stuffed steelhead trout, and a wagyu burger, while the bar serves up handcrafted cocktails made with premium tequilas and mezcals. Restaurant buyouts can accommodate up to 140 guests.

Alouette Bistro
Alouette Bistro opened at the Executive Hotel Le Soleil in downtown Vancouver in August 2021 with an enticing menu of West Coast-inspired dishes prepared using methods of classic French bistros. Highlights include coq au vin, duck cassoulet, seared halibut, and rainbow trout almondine. For private events in the amber-lit space, full buyouts are available for 100 seated guests. For a more intimate gathering, planners can book the private dining room for 10 or the mezzanine level for 40.

Bacaro
As of June, the lobby level of the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel is home to restaurant Bacaro. Bringing Northern Italy-inspired cuisine to the heart of Vancouver, the eatery takes guests on a sensory tour of the style, service, and atmosphere of Venice's beloved bacaros (a term Venetians use for bars that offer wine and cicchetti, aka small plates). Bacaro offers a wide selection of wines by the glass, aperitivi, cicchetti, caffé speciali, and handmade Italian pastries. Buyouts for up to 65 guests are available, with pricing dependent on the day of the week and duration of the event.
