Birdseye

A new rooftop restaurant and bar called Birdseye opened on the rooftop of the Cormorant Boutique Hotel in March. Birdseye is accessed throughout an outdoor alley designed with a pop-art mural and living plant wall to give visitors a coastal vibe before they even walk in. And fittingly, the rooftop lounge offers a bird’s-eye view of La Jolla’s shores where up to 50 guests can sip on cocktails, enjoy coastal cuisine, or celebrate a special occasion. The al fresco venue is open on Wednesday and Thursday noon-10 p.m. and Friday-Sunday 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Hungry? Devour carnita’s benedict for breakfast, a barbeque chicken ranch flatbread for lunch, linguini fra diavolo with shrimp for dinner, or a raspberry white chocolate cheesecake for dessert. Thirsty? Sip on a signature "Spa Day" or "The Diving Bird" cocktail, which are made with coconut cream, rum, and fruit juices to ignite feelings of being in the tropics.

Mikami Bar and Revolving Sushi

Mikami Revolving Sushi has been so popular among San Diegans since its opening last summer that the owners opened a second concept at the same location—Mikami Bar—in early April. Designed to give guests a more intimate dining experience, Mikami Bar is reminiscent of a Japanese izakaya-style lounge with live music on a stage, upscale appetizers by chef Joshua Hiroki, and sake-starring cocktails. The new space can accommodate up to 60 guests, and menu highlights include sushi (of course), rainbow Nigiri, tuna tataki, braised pork belly, and more. Along with Mikami Revolving Sushi, full buyouts can seat up to 230 guests, with pricing starting at $100 per person and includes F&B.

Hotel del Coronado

Although Hotel del Coronado has been a San Diego staple since 1888, it recently underwent major renovations to spruce up and refresh the space. Renovations have been ongoing since 2019 and are set to be completed in September. With 100,000 square feet of indoor space and 150,000 square feet of outdoor space, there is plenty of room for entertaining whether looking to host a wedding reception, a corporate event, or even just a celebration. The Del features Southpointe Event Center (pictured), North Beach, Windsor Lawn, Crown Room, and Founders Hall, all of which are event spaces that can be rented for various events. The property can host 7,718 seated indoors, 4,730 seated outdoors, and 1,950 for standing reception on North Beach. Encore Global provides onsite audio and visual services as well as the capability for hybrid meetings and events. Pricing for events varies on which space is being rented, and pricing can be inquired within. Serẽa is one of the properties restaurants that can accommodate up to 200 guests for a full buyout and has both private and semi-private spaces available for groups of 18-60 guests.
