Here's a closer look at Dallas/Fort Worth's newest eateries, drinking spots, hotels, conference areas, private rooms, and other spaces available for events this spring. The new and renovated Dallas/Fort Worth area venues are available for corporate parties, weddings, fundraisers, outdoor functions, business dinners, team-building activities, conferences, meetings, and more.
The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas

The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas completed a major renovation in October 2023. Embracing grandeur and opulence, the Uptown hotel epitomizes modern luxury. Details throughout the property pay homage to Dallas’ influence on art, fashion, industry, and horticulture. Throughout the property, 218 guest rooms and suites all feature skyline views, art deco decor, proper writing desks, and vanity areas, among other amenities. The renovation also includes a re-imagined 12,000-square-foot spa and three on-site food and beverage outlets that range from casual to fine dining. The hotel also includes 11 meeting rooms that encompass 24,000 square feet of event space, with the largest space accommodating as many as 1,000 guests in a classroom-style setup and 550 for banquets.

Loews Arlington

Loews Arlington opened its doors in February. The 21-story, 888-room property is the largest in the Loews portfolio, and each room features floor-to-ceiling windows and custom decor. Planners can take advantage of a whopping 200,000 square feet of indoor meeting and convention space, as well as 66,000 square feet of outdoor event space. The largest ballroom spans 51,000 square feet and can accommodate 5,875 guests for banquets, 7,050 for cocktail-style receptions, and 7,833 theater style, while the smallest measures 372 square feet with room for nine guests around a conference table. Throughout the hotel, guests can enjoy five restaurants and lounges, a full-service spa and salon, and a resort-style beach club with two pools and a waterslide. The property is also connected to the Arlington Convention Center and accessible by sky bridge to the neighboring 300-room Live! By Loews - Arlington Hotel.

Cowboy Chow

Cowboy Chow, the newest addition to the AT&T Discovery District, debuted in October 2023. The 7,000-square-foot restaurant embodies cowboy culture with themed decor, bright colors, and a menu inspired by dinners on the trail—think smoked beef stroganoff, Rocky Mountain trout, and Texas-style chili. The venue offers seating for as many as 200 guests, with TV screens, audio, and lighting available for planners’ use.

Shodo

Shodo opened in December 2023, adding a traditional, upscale sushi option to the Design District. The exquisite 4,000-square-foot space celebrates Japan with artwork and decor honoring samurai culture. A large selection of sake and Japanese whisky complements the food menu, which features standout dishes like wagyu beef sashimi, truffle citrus scallops, and Alaskan salmon bowls. Planners can host groups in several spaces: the 60-seat dining room, 20-seat bar area, 12-seat private omakase room, and 40-seat private dining room.

Lyla

Lyla, which opened in September 2023, brings a breezy, coastal Italian vibe to Uptown Dallas. The menu follows suit, offering Mediterranean-inspired dishes like rock shrimp linguine, whipped eggplant, fig and arugula pizza, and olive oil cake. The 3,000-square-foot venue seats 150 and accommodates 300 for cocktail-style events. For smaller groups, the restaurant also includes an 850-square-foot, heated, semiprivate patio with space for 100 guests cocktail style and 65 seated. A 300-square-foot private dining room seats 16, and the lounge accommodates 75 guests cocktail style and 36 seated.

Mister Charles

Mister Charles, a sophisticated, high-energy restaurant and bar, opened in July 2023 in the former Highland Park Soda Fountain Building. The menu includes fun interpretations of classic French and Italian dishes, like corn and truffle beignets, lobster thermidor, and banana pudding baked Alaska. The decor features elegant design details like an open kitchen, 38-foot cathedral ceilings, a marble-top bar, antique mirrors, and intricate light fixtures. In total, the restaurant seats 98 in the dining room, 12 at the bar, 26 in the private dining room, and 24 on the outdoor patio.

Birdie’s Eastside

Birdie’s opened a location on the Eastside in December 2023. The indoor-outdoor restaurant seats 150 in the main dining room, while a 7,000-square-foot turfed patio with stylish oversize furniture is available for groups as large as 200. The space feels exciting, with colorful accents, funky Texas-inspired art, vintage decor, and cathedral ceilings. On the menu, guests will find a range of dishes, from light salads to heavier dishes like brisket tacos, fried chicken sandwiches, and birria sliders.

Sanjh

January brought the opening of Sanjh, an upscale Indian restaurant in Las Colinas. The venue celebrates India’s vibrant history, and regions all over India are represented on the food and cocktail menus, both of which focus on traditional Indian ingredients like mango, cashews, coriander, and rosewater. With extra-high ceilings and a neutral color palette, the space feels at once inviting and elegant. Between the 6,200-square-foot indoor dining room and the 2,000-square-foot outdoor patio, the restaurant seats as many as 220 guests.

The Turn

Links lovers will have a great time at The Turn, which opened in November 2023 and features golf simulation bays with more than 100 courses available to play. The decor is fun and playful, with midcentury modern seating and ’70s-esque curved lines. The venue includes a chill lounge with capacity for as many as 30 guests, along with TV screens that planners can use as needed. The bar serves beer, wine, and limited liquor, and additional cocktails and finger foods can be walked over from The Turn’s adjacent sister venue, Another Round.

Columbian Country Club

In December 2023, East Dallas became home to Columbian Country Club, an elegant martini bar and tequila lounge. The concept pays homage to an exclusive, historic Dallas club of the same name that closed 20 years ago, making guests feel like they’ve been transported to the opulent ’80s and ’90s. Spanning 2,500 square feet, the restaurant seats 100 people. Decor like a live player piano, pictures of musicians of the era, and floral wallpaper create a glamorous vibe. The cocktail menu follows suit, with a selection of smooth martinis, top-shelf cocktails, and high-end Champagne and wine. The kitchen offers upscale versions of bar food, like caviar, crab dip, and spiced fries.

La Mina

La Mina at The Village in North Dallas reopened in October 2023. The 3,500-square-foot space is now an energetic Latin American lounge, with a newly designed underground entrance, colorful murals, moody lighting, and a DJ booth. The venue offers a capacity for 150 guests for cocktail receptions, including a brick-enclosed patio, and a 30-seat private speakeasy is available for more intimate events. On the menu, guests will find shareable plates like ceviche and guacamole, a wide array of street tacos, and flavorful cocktails.

Sheraton Stonebriar Hotel

Sheraton Stonebriar Hotel, located at Stonebriar Commons in Frisco, completed a renovation in January that included all 168 guest rooms, as well as the meeting rooms, public spaces, and state-of-the-art fitness center. The property features seven meeting rooms comprising 6,364 square feet of event space, ranging from a 2,368-square-foot ballroom that seats 220 classroom style and 128 for banquets to a 384-square-foot breakout room that seats 14 for conferences and 40 in a classroom-style setup. A pool deck and an on-site restaurant are also available for group gatherings.
