The Design Exchange, Canada's design museum, is located in the original Toronto Stock Exchange building, a unique and iconic space in which to hold a corporate or social function. Several flexible and alternative spaces are available, accommodating a wide range of events. These include the historic Trading Floor maintained in its original state in the genre of Streamline Moderne (a reaction to the Art Deco movement) ideal for product launches, annual general meetings, press conferences, weddings, receptions, gala dinners and creative public events; The Mies van der Rohe-inspired Library, recently made available for rental, includes floor-to-ceiling windows, offers a spectacular view of King and Bay Streets and is ideal for cocktail receptions, product launches and presentations; the Boardroom, a sophisticated space with an extraordinary view of the financial district is ideal for executive meetings; the Exhibition Hall is available for bookings with concurrent exhibitions for small to medium receptions (curatorial tours can also be included upon request); and finally, the Patty Watt Room, adjacent to the Exhibition Hall, is a midsize multipurpose space offering privacy and convenience appropriate for small press conferences, private lunches, and seminars. The Design Exchange is Canada's only museum dedicated exclusively to design and provides a sophisticated alternative for meetings, events, and receptions in the downtown core.
