A tale as old as time, golf is a tried-and-true sport for bonding with coworkers, entertaining clients, and securing business deals. But with a digital craze in the air, the decades-old game has been given a tech-forward facelift.
Now, simulated golf venues offer year-round opportunities for groups to gather for some friendly competition. As the indoor game gains popularity among social and corporate planners for its ability to please attendees of all ages and athletic abilities, we’ve rounded up five new and soon-to-open venues to consider for your team’s next outing.
Fairway Social | Atlanta

The 13,000-square-foot Fairway Social made its debut in Atlanta’s Alpharetta neighborhood in May 2021. The entertainment venue features 11 indoor simulator bays, an outdoor Back 9 Putting Experience, a full-service restaurant and bar, and private event spaces for corporate and social groups (planners can even transform the simulator screens into a projector for presentations). In addition to golf, each bay offers 15 other simulated sports, as well as the ability to host team-building competitions. Fairway Social is slated to open a second location at Town at Trilith in Fayetteville, Ga., later this year. The Alpharetta location is available for buyouts and can accommodate up to 500 guests.

The Golf Den | Redbank, NJ

The Golf Den started welcoming groups in August 2021. With four golf simulator bays—and the fifth one in progress—the 4,700-square-foot, family-owned space lends itself to more intimate upscale events and can host around 65 guests for a corporate, team-building gathering. Each bay offers a TV and a mini fridge since players are encouraged to bring their own food and drinks.

Five Iron Golf | The Loop, Chicago

Taking golf to the next modern, digital level is one of Five Iron Golf’s newest locations in The Loop in Chicago, which opened in December 2021. The urban space boasts 11,000 square feet, a restaurant and bar, and 11 golf simulator bays driven by TrackMan golf technology. Want to keep the team bonding going? The venue offers seasonal, six-week-long leagues that accommodate up to four players on a team. Five Iron Golf’s entire space in The Loop can be reserved for private events of up to 99 guests.

Indoor Golf RVA | Richmond, Va.

A 24/7 golf club with more than 140 virtual courses, Indoor Golf RVA opened this summer in Richmond, Va., as a members-only entertainment venue for golf lovers. Guests are encouraged to bring their own food and drinks as they gather by the bays to try out the venue's TrackMan technology. When it comes to events, Indoor Golf RVA is happy to host and kindly ask for a three-week notice for all corporate functions.

Tribe Golf | Colorado Springs, Colo.

PGA golf professional and coach Leighton Smith opened Tribe Golf in Colorado Springs in February of this year, bringing with it four simulated golf bays that feature TrackMan technology. The laidback, lounge-inspired environs are meant to bring a casual tone to the sport that's gained a bad rep for being "uptight." Each bay offers more than 100 games that are your team's for the choosing. The venue can host around 30 attendees and is available for full buyouts for private corporate events.
