Every fall, floral, event, and interior designers submit their ideas for a themed Christmas tree to the planning committee of the Georgetown Jingle fund-raiser, which benefits the pediatric oncology programs at Georgetown Hospital. This year 18 designers or design teams brought their pitches to life in displays throughout the Four Seasons Georgetown.
Nearly 800 guests arrived at the hotel on Sunday for the two-part fund-raising event, which began with a family day of activities including cookie and cupcake decorating, magic tricks, photos with Santa, and ornament crafting followed by a primarily adult cocktail party with food stations from neighborhood restaurants. Throughout both events, guests perused the trees set up in the lobby and first floor of the hotel, each with a full description of their designer's inspiration.
With values ranging from $2,000 to $30,000, the trees—which could be purchased via an auction that day—incorporated a variety of unique design elements from recycled soda cans and chicken wire to feathers, glitter, and eye glasses. Here's a closer look at nine of the stand-out designs.
